“Our main goal in Bluebells is to provide a quality early learning experience through an environment that encourages and respects individuality and to maximise the development of children through the provision of professional care and developmentally appropriate educational activities.”
Bluebells Preschool and After School is a part-time early years’ service located within Loreto National School. They opened their doors for the first time in September 2021 and offer free ECCE places and an option of additional hours from 9.00am – 1.50pm.
Bluebells provides a 'home away from home' setting for all children where they can make friends and have quality, fun learning experiences in a safe and secure environment. They engage in play-based activities which follows a child-centred emergent programme of care. The preschool adheres to regulations set out by TUSLA, DCYA and HSE, and they work within the Siolta quality framework and the Aistear curriculum framework.
Bluebells offers an after school service within the school for primary school age children attending Loreto School. Currently the after school service runs from 1.50pm - 2.50pm with plans to eventually extend these hours until 5pm in the coming months.

The Team
The dedicated team of Rosemary and Alison provide a warm welcoming atmosphere and develop caring relationships between children, parents and other staff. They are committed to delivering high quality childcare with staff regularly undertaking continuous professional development. All staff have child protection training and a qualified first aider is on site at all times.
ECCE Scheme
The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides early childhood care and education for children of preschool age. Children can start ECCE when they are 2 years and 8 months of age on September 1st of the year that they will be starting and continue until they transfer to primary school (provided that they are not older than 5 years and 6 months at the end of the pre-school year).
Facilities
We have extensive facilities for our preschool children including an outdoor play area with many trikes, scooters, hoops and much more.
After School Service
We offer an after school service within the school for primary school age children attending Loreto School. Currently the After-school service runs from 1.50pm - 2.50pm for our Junior and Senior Infants and until 5pm for all other classes.
